TEMPLE B’NAI ABRAHAM IN NEWARK
Where God Lives: Houses and Symbols of Worship in Newark and Beyond explores, through black and white photography, the different houses of worship in the greater Newark area, highlighting their architectural beauty, religious symbolism, and the heartfelt significance they hold for those who follow a particular religion . It also hopes to show that these structures, symbols, and rituals, may share many commonalities, not readily apparent to the casual viewer.
Tim Lee is an essayist and documentary photographer who firmly believes words and images should be used to highlight the similarities between people, fostering understanding instead of division, intolerance and hate. He was managing editor of the spirited, albeit short-lived Newark Examiner, and the Executive Director of Saturday Morning Business Seminars (SMBS) that provided free seminars on marketing, sales, finance, hiring, and general business practices for those seeking to start a small business. Although a native New Yorker, Tim has been a Newark resident for the past 40 years. He graduated from Weequahic High School in 1974. He resides with his wife and family in the Clinton Hill section of the city.
